So sad to hear this. I always wanted to thank her. When I command an audience, I use two of the techniques she used in the 4th grade. They are extremely effective and I have received many compliments as a result. The credit goes to her.

Message from Highland Heights, Ohio

Ms. Custead was my 6th grade reading teacher. I adored her with every bone in my body. I am so sorry to hear of her passing--but I am sure you will be comforted to know that twelve year old me appreciated her so much that I grew up (I am 35 now) to be an English/Reading teacher as well.

I went back to visit her my senior year in high school to say "thank you" for all she had done...I am so glad that I have that memory...

To those she left behind--Nancy was a blessing and a joy--and left an impact on what is likely a countless number of children. May you find comfort and peace.
