Melody J. “Micki” (Trader) Micsky, age 63 of Jefferson, died Sunday morning at her residence follow a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born March 28, 1956 in Painesville, the daughter of Charles & Freda (Knotts) Trader and has lived in the Jefferson area most of her life. Micki was an STNA at Carington Park Nursing Home and formerly worked many years as a waitress at the Village Restaurant and the Jefferson Diner.
She attended the Cook Rd. Pentecostal Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, making candy and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Robert “Bobby” (Cindy Hiles) Micsky of Madison, Mark Micsky & Nick (Megan) Price, both of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five siblings, Fred (Wanda) Trader of Parsons, WV, Richard (Leslie) Trader of Beaver Springs, PA, Patty (Lee) Potter of Wildwood, FL, Diane Logan of Ft. Valley, GA & Darlene (Tom) Tupts of Geneva.
Micki was preceded in death her parents; a sister, Henrietta “Hank” Kinney and a brother, Billy Trader.
A visitation to celebrate Micki’s life is Friday from 4-6 PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Memorial contributions are suggested for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
