Marion H. Watts, 93 of Plymouth Brick Rd. Plymouth Twp. died Tuesday (Dec. 3rd) at Saybrook Landing. He was born December 24, 1925 in Somerset, Kentucky the son of Squire and Marjorie (Campbell) Watts.
Marion was a veteran of the US Navy serving in both the Europe-Africa-Middle Theater in the invasion of Southern France and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in the assault and occupation of Okinawa as a Radar-man 3rd class during World War II.
He had been employed with RMI in Ashtabula for thirty four years until his retirement.
He enjoyed bowling, gardening, horseshoes and loved checkers, teaching all his grandchildren how to play. Photography was also a favorite past time of his.
Surviving him is his wife, Wilma (Hamilton) Watts who he married May 16, 1946; four children, Edward (Debbie) Watts of Ashtabula, Antoinette (John) Beninato of Ashtabula, Michael Watts of Plymouth Township and Michelle (Jason Pildner) Laveck of Ashtabula; a daughter-in-law, Linda Watts of Plymouth Townshipi, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Brenda Watts, a son Ronald Watts and his brothers and sisters, Benton Watts, Rebecca Gouch, Woodrow Watts, Marie Jenkins, Robert Watts, Ruth Watts and A.W. Watts.
Funeral service will be Saturday (December 7th) at 12:00 Noon at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Plymouth Township.
