Marilyn M. Nelson

Marilyn M. Nelson, 89 of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away, Thursday December 20, 2018.

She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio to Douglas and Edith Westover on November 2, 1929. Marilyn married the love of her life of 67 years Richard W. Nelson on March 31, 1951.

She was a resident of Ashtabula all her life. Marilyn worked for the Ashtabula City School system as a secretary at Ashtabula and Ashtabula Harbor High schools prior to her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crafts for her family and bingo and bowling with her friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Richard W. Nelson, her daughter Linda (David) Laird, her two sons, Gary W. Nelson and Bruce D. (Anna) Nelson; her sister, Barbara Harwell and a brother, David Westover; a grandson, Gary R. Nelson and a granddaughter, Tiffani Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Edith Westover.

Funeral service will be Wednesday (Dec. 26th) at 3:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Pastor Roger Loomis of Harbor Light Hospice officiating. In keeping with her wishes, Marilyn will be cremated following her funeral service.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Harbor Light Hospice.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all staffs at Ashtabula County Club Retirement Campus, Ashtabula County Medical Center and Harbor Light Hospice for their care and Compassion during Marilyn’s illness.
