Lloyd R. Steed, 86 of Ashtabula died Thursday morning at his home. He was born June 20, 1930 in Ashtabula the son of Obie and Allie (Souders) Steed and has been a lifetime area resident.

He was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and had been employed with SCM as a chemical operator for thirty five years retiring in 1993.

He had been a member of Plymouth United Methodist Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, woodworking and photography. He especially loved being with his family and helping them any way he could.

Surviving him are his six children, Shirley (Jim) Carraher, Karen (Ron) Shelton, Kathy McIver, Darcy Steed, Kevin (Clarissa) Steed all of Ashtabula and James (Paula) Steed of Wadsworth; ten grandchildren, Lori, Jeff, Robert, Dan, Jesse, Carly, Alexander, Kristen, Ashley and Sean and three great grandchildren, Kaylee, Savannah and Gabby. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Edward Thress, Jr; a brother, Eddie Thress and his former wife, Betty Steed and a daughter, Tracy Steed in infancy.

Graveside services will be Friday (May 26th) at 2:00 PM at Ridgeview Cemetery, Austinburg Rd. Ashtabula Township. The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W.
