Keegan E. C. Maple, age 26, of Tompkins Rd., Dorset, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Roaming Shores. He was born on March 9, 1992 in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of Warren C. & Kelly L. (VanGilder) Maple.
Keegan was a 2010 Jefferson High School graduate and went on to work as a union painter. He was an Eagle Scout reaching the Order of the Arrow merit. He was in the National Honor Society, Botany Club, and was active in high school athletics. He played football and was a three year wrestling team captain. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan, saying that he respected the fact they always lose but continue trying.
Keegan’s boys, Brennan and Braxton were his world. He loved playing and rough housing with them. He enjoyed fishing and had just recently took up snowmobiling with his father.
Keegan is survived by his companion, Jessie N. Facer of Cleveland; his two children, Brennan M. and Braxton J. Maple both of Cleveland; mother and stepfather, Kelly L. Maple Kern and David H. Kern of Jefferson; father Warren C. Maple of Dorset; brothers, Kendrick P. Maple of Cleveland, Alex S. (Mandy) Kern of Ashtabula; sister, Jillian E. (Janet Benson) Kern of Mentor-on-the-Lake; maternal grandparents, Bill & Lonnie VanGilder of Ashtabula and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his uncles, Billy VanGilder and Kenny VanGilder; grandfather, Paul Maple; grandmother Janet Maple.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio with Keegan’s favorite teacher Dr. John Patterson officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday at the Jefferson Home from 12:00-2:00 P. M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to his children, Brennan & Braxton Maple, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
