Joseph A. Frohnaple

Joseph A. Frohnaple, 90 of Ashtabula died Wednesday (August 8th) at Vibra Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was born December 26, 1927 in Ashtabula the son of George and Rosella (Altenbaugh) Frohnaple and has been a lifetime area resident.

He was a 1946 graduate of Ashtabula High School and had worked for 35 years at Reactive Metals until his retirement in 1985.

He is a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ashtabula.

Joe enjoyed hunting in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Elk hunting in Montana and fishing in Canada. He also enjoyed restoring antique furniture, gardening and the Cleveland Indians. For over 25 years he spent winters in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Surviving him is his wife Dorothy (Jenks) Frohnaple; two daughters, Debra (Kenneth) Severino of Ashtabula and Darcy (Scott) Mosier of Ashtabula; a son, David (Judy) Frohnaple of Springfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Wendy, John, Leslieann, Amy, Garreth, Molly, Tiffany, Mandy and Caitlyn; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dennis Frohnaple in infancy, a brother, Charles Frohnaple and four sisters, Frances Marlow, Marie Forman, Beatrice George and Lois Rocco.

Funeral service will be Monday (August 13th) at 12:00 Noon at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Michael Meranda of the Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio.
