Jose' A. "Tony Ratone" Rodriguez, Sr.

Jose’ A. “Tony Ratone” Rodriguez, Sr., age 72 of Saybrook Twp., died Thursday at the UH-Geneva Medical Center with his wife, Tifanie and daughter-in-law, Sherry by his side.

He was born October 9, 1946 in Padillia, Puerto Rico the son of Juan & Fransica (Rivera) Rodriguez and has lived in the Ashtabula area most of his life, formerly living in Puerto Rico and Florida.  Mr. Rodriguez did farming, nursery work and factory work most of his career.  He was married to Tifanie L. Hunt on November 10, 2014.

Jose’ loved his tomato plants and growing tomatoes and enjoyed watching professional wrestling.

He is survived by his wife, Tifanie; numerous children which locally include, Jose’ “Tony” (Janet) Rodriguez, Jr., Michael (Sherry) Rodriguez, April Bucci, Rey Rodriguez, Gina Mae & step-daughter, Misty (Rick) Snyder; 17 grandchildren locally; five great-grandchildren and his mother and father-in-law, Joyce “Mama” & Robert “James Bond” Lloyd of Jefferson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Juan; sister Eddie and a step-daughter, Maggee Torres.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
