Janie L. Fishman, age 68, Lake Rd. West, Ashtabula, fondly known by her loved ones as the “Princess”, died Monday evening at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
She was born March 3, 1950 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Kenneth & Patricia (McClintock) Chapin. Janie grew up in this area, then lived in California and Arizona over the next 40 years and moved back to Ashtabula in 2014. She was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson Area High School and was previously married to Michael Fishman.
Janie attended the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards and board games. She was an all-around people person, loving her family and was the favorite aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
Survivors include four siblings, Patti (Ron) Ensell of Ashtabula, Russ Chapin of Las Vegas, NV, Sue (John) Edwards of Chula Vista, CA & David (Edie) Chapin of Payson, AZ. Her parents, a brother, John Chapin and her beloved dog, Rivet all preceded her in death.
A celebration of life (which was organized by the “Princess’ herself) will be held Saturday at 2:00 P. M. at the Ron & Patti Ensell residence, 4810 Lake Rd. West, Ashtabula, OH 44004 (corner of Highland & Lake). Requested dress code is 1960’s attire. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church, 2610 Lenox-New Lyme Rd., Jefferson, OH 44047.
