Donna Sjostrom (White) Welton

Donna Sjostrom Welton, age 87 of Saybrook Twp., died early Saturday morning at the Saybrook Landing.

She was born October 9, 1931 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Charles & Carrie (Pallutch) White and has been an Ashtabula area resident all of her life.  Donna was a full time wife and mother but did manage to work a short while at MFG & Iten Industries.

Mrs. Welton was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Joseph Church and the Friendship Club at the Ashtabula Senior Center.  She was a proud mom and Nana and always made “family first”.  Her enjoyments were the Cousin’s Luncheon, the Sunday church crowd, gambling and playing bingo.

Survivors include seven children, Michael (Val) Sjostrom, Carolyn (Kevin) Parr, Martin (Diana) Sjostrom, Mark (Renee) Sjostrom, Larry (Cathy) Sjostrom, James Sjostrom & Karrie Ann (Jesse) Blair, all of Ashtabula; 15 grandchildren; 16 plus great-grandchildren and a step-sister, Colleen Martino of Ashtabula.

Her parents, husbands, Lawrence Sjostrom & Roger Welton and sisters, Thomosina Otto & Martha DeCamillo preceded her in death.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Saybrook Landing and Bella Care Hospice for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Thomas officiating.
