Dolores Mae (Dietrich) Hinger

Dolores M. Hinger, age 88, Lenox Twp., died early Friday morning at the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she had been a patient the past two weeks.

She was born June 16, 1930 in Cleveland, the daughter of John Osmer & Evelyn (Nye) Dietrich and has resided in Ashtabula County the majority of her life.  She was a graduate of Rock Creek High School in 1948 and then was married to Jack Hinger on June 19, 1948 at the Congregational Church in Rock Creek.

Mrs. Hinger was an active and involved member of the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church where she taught Sunday school, served as secretary and president of the Women’s Association and secretary/ treasurer of Missions.  In the past, she volunteered for the 5th grade teachers at Jefferson Elementary School, was a charter member of the Ashtabula Co. Genealogical Society, the NRA and life member of the Liberty (Lenox) Gun Club.  She also was a member of the former Lenox Historical Society, where she served seven years as editor of the newsletter and the Lenox Homecoming Committee.  Dolores served as secretary, treasurer and historian of the Dietrich Family Reunion.  In 2010 she was named Lenox Citizen of the Year.

Survivors include two children Laurelee Hinger & Christopher Hinger, both of Lenox Twp., a sister, Dorothy Dietrich Armstrong of Cuyahoga Falls, four brothers, Donald Dietrich of Morgan Twp., Ramon Dietrich of Orwell, Keith Dietrich of Columbus & Philip Dietrich of Pierpont Twp. and several nieces and nephews.

Her father (1962), mother (1992) and husband, Jack in 2005, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (6/30/18) at 12:00 PM at the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church, 2610 Lenox-New Lyme Rd., Jefferson (Lenox Center) with Pastor Rick Havens officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 PM prior to the service.  Burial will be in Rays Corners Cemetery.
