David Ray Carlson, ae 68, Footville-Richmond Rd., Lenox Twp., died unexpectedly early Friday morning following a stroke at Lee Memorial Medical Center in Ft. Myers, FL.
He was born June 17, 1950 in Cleveland. David was a Jefferson area resident most of his life, wintering in Ft. Myers the past four years. He was a retired supervisor of electrical construction and maintenance with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co.
He was a member of Jefferson Eagles Aerie Lodge #3881. David was a man of zest and vitality, always full of humor and loved to tease and joke and always loved the entertainment scenes on the beach since wintering in Florida. He traveled, loved his yard work and flower gardens, enjoyed car and motorcycle shows, riding motorcycles and walking. His most cherished time was with grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Hope M. (Dwayne Ringling) Carlson of Peoria, AZ; three granddaughters, Brooklyn Marie, Jordan Renee & Taylor Hope; his first wife, Debra P. (Hladky) Carlson of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Robert Carlson of Bedford and a sister, Karen (Frank) Janoch of Macedonia. His mother, Ruth M. (Heller) Thompson; two sons, Bryan R. in 1997 & David R. in 2008, his wife, Leslie (Pirrone) Carlson in 2013 and a sister Sharon McConnell in 2016 all preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Jefferson Eagles, 133 S. Spruce St., Jefferson with the Rev. Mick Gilliam leading the service. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM prior to the service at the Eagles on Saturday. Burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery.
