Darwin E. Burge, Jr., age 78, lifetime Mingo Junction resident, died Monday afternoon at the Jefferson Healthcare Center in Jefferson, Ohio.

He was born September 15, 1940 in Follansbee, WV, the son of the late Darwin & Vada Mae (Neff) Burge. Mr. Burge was married to Linda D. Darrah on June 27, 1965 in Mingo Junction. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era, he was a proud veteran and honored to serve his country. Darwin was a retired employee of Weirton Steel.

His enjoyments included gardening, walking, hiking, fishing and camping. He belonged to the Rosebud Society and Master Gardeners.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; four daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Smith of Albion, PA, Darwynna (Shawn) Benzo of Weirton, WV, Michelle (Brian) Toth of Ashtabula & Gretchen (Thomas) Fleming of Jefferson; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Rod) Clevenger and two brothers, Gerald (Susie) & Richard (Brenda) Burge, all of Mingo Junction.
