Connie Jean (March) Wessell

Connie J. Wessell, age 56, Ashtabula, died Tuesday evening, surrounded by family, at the Cleveland Clinic, where she had been hospitalized the past two weeks.

She was born July 25, 1961, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Kenneth & Barbara J. (Kelner) March and has been an Ashtabula County resident all of her life.  Connie was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson Area High School.  She was married to Wynn B. Wessell on March 27, 1982 in Jefferson.

Connie was an advisor for the South Central Livestock 4-H Livestock Club for 25 years; she enjoyed working with the children on the 4-H projects.  She enjoyed collecting beach glass and making jewelry, going to yard sales, loved her cats and her greatest enjoyment was being with family.

Survivors include her husband, Wynn; three children, Stefanie J. Wessell of Ashtabula, Byron C. Wessell of Saybrook Twp. & Heather M. Wetherbee of Perry; two grandsons, Jesse & Liam; five siblings, Carol Lennon of Lenox Twp., Ken March of Ashtabula, Anson (Leigh Anne) March of Madison, Lisa Onion of Jefferson & Scott March of Lakewood; her grandmother, Elsie March in California and a special cousin, Jackie Ervin of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Karen in infancy.

Memorial services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p. m. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Mick Gilliam, associate pastor at the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Ninevah Cemetery, Rome Twp. at a later date.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-3 p. m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ashtabula Co. 4-H Foundtion, P. O.
