Charles J. Farina, age 78, of Doyle Rd. Jefferson, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born November 30, 1939 in Cleveland, the son of Pascal & Catherine (Springob) Farina.
Charles retired after 20 years of owning Ashtabula Vinyl Company. He was Chief of Police in Orwell and a Deputy at the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department prior. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his vegetable garden. He loved helping others and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His main love in his life was being a dedicated family man. He went above and beyond to be the best husband, dad and papa he could be.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Jean” (Vilcheck) Farina of Jefferson; children, David (Kelly) Farina of Jefferson, Kathy (Bill) Cunningham of Jefferson; sisters, Patricia Dula of Eastlake, Betty Huntington of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Billy (Jessica) Cunningham of Jefferson, Kasey Farina (Tyler Ellsworth) of Jefferson, Cole Farina of Jefferson, Kody Cunningham of Jefferson; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Avery Cunningham of Jefferson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two children in infancy; brothers, Joseph Farina and Harry Farina; sister, Kay Fay.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Fr. John Ettinger of St. Joseph’s Church of Jefferson officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 23rd from 5:00-7:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
