Catherine R. Cefalo, 90 of Ashtabula died Thursday (June 28th) at the home of her daughter. She was born August 3, 1927 in Glover Gap, West Virginia the daughter of Harvey and Lucy Ann (Lodge) Harding and has lived in the Ashtabula area since 1948.
She had been employed by Yoder Brothers Greenhouse and also at Birth care in Ashtabula.
She a member of Our Lady of Peace Parrish and was active and volunteered at Mother of Sorrows Church and was also on the Altar and Rosary Guild. Catherine also volunteered at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Surviving her are her five children, Joseph (Judith) Cefalo of St. Augustine, FL, Gary (Karla) Cefalo of Homosassa, FL, Michel (Phen) Cefalo of Cortland, Ohio, Kathy (David) Kaplan of Ashtabula and Tami (Joseph) Rich of Ashtabula; twenty one grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Fred Thompson of Steubenville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Joseph in 1998 and by thirteen brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday (July 2nd) at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace, Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 West 6th St. Ashtabula with Father David Bridling officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Saybrook Twp.
Visitation will be Sunday (July 1st) from 3 to 5 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio.
