Carl Joseph Saksa, age 82 of Dorset Twp., died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at the UH Andover Health Center emergency room.
He was born April 23, 1937 in Wheeling, WV, the son of Andy & Frances (Angelavich) Saksa. Carl grew up in St. Clairsville, moving to Middleburg Hts., then locating to this area 34 years ago. Carl was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Pamela M. Snyder on June 26, 1975 in Nashville, NC.
Carl spent 18 years with East Ohio Gas Co., then spent several years as a dispatcher in the trucking industry before retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, FOE Aerie Lodge #3881 in Jefferson and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and watching baseball and football.
Survivors include his wife, Pam; two sons, Tom P. (Jenna) Saksa of Kingsville & Andy J. (Ashley) Saksa of Cambridge Springs, PA and two grandchildren, Logan & Aiden Saksa.
His parents; sisters, Frances Demuth, Anne Mobley & Mary Saksa and brothers, Andy, John George & Joseph Saksa all preceded him in death.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10/3/19 at 5:00 PM at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. Fr. John Ettinger officiating. Final burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery.
