Bernadette T. Larson, age 70, Sheffield Twp., died Tuesday morning at her residence with her family by her side. She courageously battled Alzheimer’s Disease for the past decade.
She was born September 18, 1949 in Garfield Hts., the daughter of Bernard & Barbara (Nekic) Manley and was an area resident since 1978, coming from Garfield Hts. She was a graduate of Marymount High School Class of ’67, received an Associate in Arts from Cuyahoga Community College, a Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) from Cleveland State University and received her Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Bernadette was married to D. Jeffrey Larson on June 17, 1978 at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson.
Bernadette was a practicing attorney in Ashtabula Co. for more than 30 years and served as Jefferson Village Solicitor for five years. She was a member of the Ashtabula Co. Bar Association, where she served as the first female president of the association. Bernadette was also a member of St. Andrew’s Bobola Catholic Church, was a certified Master Gardener and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff; three children, Rae (Adam) Oxley of Madison, Jeffrey (Emma) Larson of Pittsburgh, PA & Erin (Steven) Altonen of Maineville; eight grandchildren, Noah, Ellenore, Elliott, Madeline, Ethan, Finn, Olive and Baby Larson on the way; a brother, Jim Manley of Mantua and two sisters, Gloria Ezzie of Cleveland & Lenore Oley of N. Olmstead.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father and mother-in-law, John & Dixie Larson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Bobola Church, 3700 St. Rt. 193, Kingsville, OH 44048 (Sheffield Twp.) with Fr. John Ettinger officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
