Beatrice “Michamocky” M. Kaplan, 86, of Ohio died Sunday (Oct. 13th) at Saybrook Landing. She was born May 17, 1933 in Sault St. Marie, Michigan the daughter of Hugh Joseph and Christine (LaCoy) McCoy.
She had worked at Premix in North Kingsville for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Premix retirees.
She was an Elder member of the Sault St. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed flower gardening, painting ceramics and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving her are her children, Gary (Debra Blair) Kaplan of Ashtabula, Edward (Pamela) Kaplan of Greenlawn, Michigan, David (Kathy) Kaplan of Ashtabula, Ohio and Beth Ann (Victor) Vierra of Warren, Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law, Jolyn Kaplan of Ashtabula, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Gary Michael Kaplan, Jr., Christopher Patrick Kaplan, John Jacob Kaplan, Sarah Tamar Fischer, Steffen Toy Fischer, Gregory Francis Kaplan, Michael Corey Kaplan, Jason Edward Kaplan and Josh Zachary Kaplan and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David in 2016; a son, George in 1973 and a son, Terry in 2018.
Funeral service will be Thursday (Oct. 17th) at 11:00 an at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio with Deacon Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery.
Calling hour will be Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
