Winifred G. Haight, 93 of Saybrook Township died Tuesday (April 4th) at Saybrook Landing. She was born November 8, 1923 in Hartsgrove  the daughter of Alexander and Euphemia (Petrie) Lawson.

She was a graduate of Rome High School and attended Dyke College in Cleveland. She had worked at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co and also for Doctors Jones and McTrusty.

She was a 70 plus year member of Grace Chapter #11 Order of Eastern Star where she was a Past Matron. She was active in the Grottoettes and she enjoyed bird watching, growing roses and baking.

Surviving her are two sons, James M. (Suzanne) Haight of Ashtabula and Edward (Gayle) Haight, Jr of Cummings, GA; four grandchildren, Timothy (Katherine) Haight, Kristin (Ryan) Chenault, Melissa (Jason) Campfield and Jonathan Haight; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Presley, Andrew, Madeline, Zachary, Alyssa and James; two sisters, Ethel Orient of Chardon and Elizabeth Dann of Matthews, NC and a special niece, Gay Wilburn Hardwick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward in 2005; two brothers, William and Alexander Lawson and two sisters May Wilburn, Euphemia Lawson.

Calling hours will be Thursday (April 6th) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with an Eastern Star Service by Grace Chapter #11 OES at 7:45 PM. A private funeral service will be on Friday with burial at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
