Thomas Edward Waldron

Thomas E. Waldron, age 96, E. 26th St., Ashtabula, died Wednesday morning at the Country Club Retirement Center where he has resided the past four years.

He was born December 6, 1920 in Cleveland, the son of Samuel C. & Helen C. (McGuire) Waldron and has lived in this area since the age of nine.  He was married to Jean M. Dean on February 18, 1945.  Mr. Waldron was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the China Berma Theatre during World War II.

He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, the VFW and the Veterans of the China Berma Theatre.  His enjoyments include airplanes and NASCAR.  Tommy has remained lifetime friends with his roommate, Vern Hood when enrolled at Kent State University.  Tommy & Vern enlisted into the military the same day, Tommy going to the Army and Vern going to the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Waldron of Ashtabula, two children, Shirley A. (Dennis Brown) Howland of Ashtabula & Terry E. (Linda) Waldron of Louisville, TX, one granddaughter, Jennifer (Gabriel) Romo and one great-granddaughter, Desiree Waldron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert and sisters, Katherine, Elaine & Barbara.

Memorial services will be held Monday at 10:30 A. M. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1342 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with the Rev. Mark Mong officiating.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Monday at 1:15 P.
