Steven C. Miller, 67 of Rome, Ohio died Tuesday (April 11th) at his home after a long illness. He was born October 6, 1949 in Erie, Pa the son of Joseph L. and Joyce M. (Norton) Miller.
He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Gannon University in Erie. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Era, working at the Freedom House rehabilitation center in Frankfort, Germany.
Steven founded Turning Point in Franklin, Pa and was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Glenbeigh and other agencies.
He was a member of the American Legion in Orwell; the Kiwanis Club in Ashtabula, and AA for 34 years. He enjoyed boating, golfing, swimming, bowling, skeet shooting and was a big Brown’s fan.
Surviving him is his wife, Vicki (Town) Miller; a daughter, Julia (Daniel Lazarz) Miller of Lexington, Ky; a son, Joe Miller of Kent, Oh; a nephew, Daniel Miller of Erie, Pa; his Godmother and Aunt, Marianne Darling of Erie, Pa; his mother-in-law, Dolores Town of Saybrook; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Miller.
Funeral service will be Tuesday (April 18th) at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery with American Legion Post #103 conducting military rites.
