Sandra E. Hanna, 74 of Columbus Ave. Ashtabula died Monday (Oct. 5th) at her home after a long illness. She was born January 11, 1941 in Painesville, Ohio the daughter of Vincent A. and Evelyn (Kennedy) Nelson and has lived most of her life in Ashtabula except from 1999 to 2012 when she lived in Florida.

She had worked as a optometrist assistant until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.

She married Douglas A. Hanna on May 27, 1961 until July of 2012 when he passed away unexpectly.

Surviving her are two sons, Mark D. (Andrea DeGennaro) Hanna of Ashtabula and Todd J. (Robin) Hanna of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Joe Hanna of Lyndhurst and Melissa (Jason) Blank of Kingsville and three great grandchildren, Jace, Max and Hanna. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas; a sister, Kay Hall; a brother, Vincent Nelson and a step-father Henry Bernardo.

At Mrs. Hanna’s request there we be no services. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
