Ruth Augusta Waid

Ruth A. Waid, age 98, lifetime Ashtabula area resident, died early Saturday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY.

 

She was born April 14, 1918 in Ashtabula and was a lifetime resident here.  Mrs. Waid was married to the late (12/3/90) Carl Waid on October 5, 1946.  She taught in the Colebrook School, the Willoughby School System and the Buckeye School System prior to her retirement.

 

Mrs. Waid attended the First Covenant Church.  She was a member of both the Ashtabula Co. and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.  She was also a life and charter member to the GAMMA IOTA Chapter of DELTA KAPPA GAMMA.

 

Mrs. Waid is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Nancee Waid and grandchildren, Andrew and Ashley Waid, all of Lexington, KY.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 A. M. at the First Covenant Church, 3300 Carpenter Rd., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Bruce Wyand officiating.  Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.

 

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 P. M. at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W.
