Raymond E. Daywalt, 86 of Orchard Rd. Ashtabula died Friday (Sept. 18th) at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. He was born June 27, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Joseph Earl and Bertha (Gilgash) Daywalt.

He served in the Army Air Corp from 1946 to 1949. He worked for Union Carbide and RMI for 23 years as a welder retiring in 1991.

He is a member of Orion Lodge # 353 F & AM and El Kadir Grotto. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed fabricating things and welding but most of all he loved his family.

Surviving him are his son, Kris (Cindy) Daywalt of Kingsville; four grandchildren;  Kristin, Justin, Amber and Lindi; eleven great grandchildren ; two brothers, Bill Daywalt of Kingsville and David (Kathy) Daywalt of Ravenna, Ohio and two sisters, Marianne (Al) Thiel of Kingsville and Carol Brunell of Kingsville.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean in 2000, his son Craig Daywalt in 1983 and a grandson Joseph C. Daywalt in 2001.

Funeral service will be Tuesday (Sept. 22nd) at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Mary Susan Pisano and his brother Pastor Bill Daywalt officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville,

Calling hour will be 10:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
