Merle E. Braunns, age 87 of Andover, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Williamsfield.  He was born on July 11, 1929 in Gustavus, OH, the son of Edward & Mary (Stevens) Braunns.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He worked as a laborer for Brainard Steel Strapping in Warren for over 20 years. He was a member of both Williamsfield Baseball League and  Williamsfield Fire Department and loved gardening.  He also loved spending time in North Carolina with family during the winter months. 

He is survived by children, Merla J. (Ron) Jewell of Williamsfield, Maryella S.(Jeff Smith) Braunns of Williamsfield, Edwin M. (Kim) Braunns of Grover, NC; half-sisters, Sandra (Kenny) Pontius of Lake Milton, Gwen Hornof of Diamond, OH, Shirley Back of FL; half-brother, Robert Braunns of Diamond, OH; grandchildren, Justin Bittikofer, Autumn (Matt) McCurdy, Courtney Jewell ( Markus Sloboda), Bridget (Matt) Springer, Victoria (Travis) Cook, Caitlyn Braunns; great grandchildren, Alexis Bittikofer, Bryce Springer and Gio Sloboda.

The family would like to personally thank caregiver,  Vivian Simonic whom cared for both Katherine and Merle  and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for all of their love and compassion.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Katherine Braunns in 2016; sister, Edith Biesterveld; twin brother, Pearl Braunns; half-brother , Paul Braunns.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 14th, 11:00 A. M. at Williamsfield Center Cemetery. The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W.
