Margaret J. Birden, 90 of West 8th St. died Monday (Feb. 1st) at the home of her daughter in Ashtabula. She was born February 3, 1925 in Wellsburg, West Virginia the daughter of Samuel F. and Mary Lucille (Jackson) Howard.

She had worked as a Day Worker for various families in the Ashtabula area.

She is a member of the Grace Christian Assembly Church of Ashtabula where she had been head of the music department. She also enjoyed composing music. She loved to cook and do crossword puzzles.

Surviving her is her daughter, Anita Haskins of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Jenyne (Shawn) Wallace and Theodore (Jennifer) Birden; seven great grandchildren, Nathaniel, DeAundra, Dareus, Santo, Justin, Shaunce, and Dayelle; eight great-great grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters, Bette (Doug) Lyons of California, Mary (Larry) Hill of Ashtabula, Catherine Yates of Ashtabula, Alberta L. Hocker of Springfield, Ohio, Richard Howard of Texas, David Howard of Pittsburgh and Thomas (Becky) Howard of Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert Sr. in 1972; two daughters, Helen Marie Birden and Arnetta Birden; a son, Herbert Birden, Jr. ; three Sisters, Gabriel, Josephine and Lucille and four brothers, Samuel, Emmett, Robert and James.

Funeral service will be Monday (February 8th) at 12:00 PM at the Grace Christian Assembly Church, 906 Joseph Ave. Ashtabula with Pastor Sharone Sing officiating with Elder Harold Nix. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.

Calling hour will be Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
