Lois M. Monroe, 87 of Saybrook Township died Tuesday (June 13th) at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born January 31, 1930 in Ashtabula the daughter of Robert Ernest and Margaret Elizabeth (Sunbury) Loudermilk.

She was a graduate of Ashtabula High School in 1948 and married Raymond Monroe on August 18, 1948 in Davidson, Michigan. She was employed with Key Bank retiring in 1992. She and her husband owned and operated Lo-Ray Trailer Sales from 1965 until 1975.  She was a member of the Saybrook Grange and a lifetime member of Family Campers and RVers.  She also sold Avon and received many Albees for her sales.

She and her husband spent their winters in Weslaco, Texas and lived there full time the last few years before returning to Ashtabula this year due to health issues.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church now Gateway Church where she was active in her younger years. Her Faith and Love of God of the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit was with her until the end.  She enjoyed crocheting, square dancing, camping and writing poetry but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving her is her husband, Raymond; daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Cliff of Saybrook; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Eric) Bryski of Saybrook, Valerie (Mike) Ferron of Ashtabula, Michael (Angie) Cliff of Kingsville, Scott and Douglas Monroe both of Ashtabula, Jerry II and Pamela Monroe both of Conneaut; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Osborne of Toledo, Ohio and two brothers, Harold E. Loudermilk and Robert M. (Carol) Loudermilk both of Saybrook Twp. and several niesces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Richardson in 1995; a daughter, Debbie Yarbrough; a son, Jerry Monroe; a sister, Elizabeth Petro and three brothers, E. James Loudermilk, William S. Loudermilk and Donald S. Loudermilk.

Funeral service will be Friday (June 23rd) at 11:00 AM at the Gateway Church, 2300 Austinburg Rd., Ashtabula with Pastor Ryan Nevil officiating.  Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gateway Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church.
