Laurie B. Crabtree, age 61, former Jefferson resident, died Monday at her residence in Mt. Clemens, MI following an extended illness.

 

She was born September 5, 1955 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Joseph & Ruby (King) Blanche.  Laurie grew up in Jefferson, graduated for Jefferson Area High School and received her BA Degree in Fashion Design from Bowling Green State University.

 

Laurie owned and operated Laurie’s Alterations in both Jefferson while residing here and in Mt. Clemens, MI.  She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jefferson.  She loved sewing and associating with people.  She had a special love in her heart for pets.

 

She is survived by a son Bryan Crabtree in Scottsdale, AZ and a step-son, Aaron (Kelley) Crabtree and their daughter, Violet in Dayton.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph in 2001 and Ruby in 2005 and two brothers, Joseph & Charles Blanche.

 

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A. M. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. John Werner officiating.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Protective League, 5790 Green Rd., Ashtabula, OH  44004.
