June L. Long, age 85 of Ashtabula, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.  She had been a resident of Saybrook Landing since November 2016.  She was born November 5, 1931, in Lodi, Ohio, the daughter of William & Evelyn L. (Mead) Emerson.  She was step daughter to W. Howard Taft whom raised her.

She worked as a cashier for the Family Dollar in Ashtabula for several years.  She enjoyed embroidery and working word search puzzles.  She loved roller skating, ice skating and bowling. 

She is survived by her half-sister, Darleen (Terry) Williams of Ashtabula; four step grandchildren, Krystal Kelly, Kandice Kelly, Michael & Tauri Kelly, three step great grandchildren, Kylie, Elouise and Khloe.

She is preceded in death by her parents; step father, William Taft; husband, Fredrick R. Long; step daughter, Corrine L. Kelly; brother, William Emerson; sister, Joyce Johnson.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva at 11:00 A. M. with celebrant Alisa Nierzejewski officiating.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Bella Care Hospice, 1933 St. Rt. 45, Austinburg, Ohio 44010.  The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory 526 W.
