Welcome to the memorial page for

Julia Bragga

May 17, 1920 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Julia, “Julie” Bragga, age 97, of St. Rt. 307 East, Jefferson, passed away at Jefferson Healthcare Center on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017.  Julie’s battle is now over and the victory in Christ is won.  She was happily married for 72 years to Manny Bragga during which she spoiled him terribly.  She also spent her life serving and spoiling many other family members.  Julie had a gentle spirit and she never seemed to be cross with anyone even if they deserved it!

She was born May 17, 1920 in Cleveland Ohio, but moved to Colebrook Ohio while still a toddler where she grew up on a farm.  She was the daughter of John and Anna (Lutkevicius) Chutas, immigrants from Lithuania.  Julie graduated and was the valedictorian of her class at Colebrook Schools.  She was a homemaker, excellent cook and worked for many years in a supervisory capacity at Mickkelsen’s Greenhouse and Carlisle Allen department store.  Julie was a member of Bethel Bible Church with a willingness to cook or bake for any function on a moment’s notice.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Inman of Jefferson and Laurence, “Larry” (Carol) Bragga of Cookeville, TN; four grandchildren, Shelly (Tom) Mountjoy, Jay (Yvonne) Inman, Drew (Terri) Bragga and Matthew (Elisa) Bragga; eight great-grandchildren, Meagan (Dan), Matthew (Dana), Cory, Kalan Camryn, Luke, Elle and Emerson; great-great-granddaughters, Kailyn, Anna and Bella.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters (Helen Kasnie and Ameila Rogers), one brother (Charles Chutas) and a son-in-law (John Inman).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 3:00 P. M. at Bethel Bible Church, 877 E. Beech St., Jefferson, with Rev. Joseph Laing officiating.  A short graveside service will take place at Oakdale Cemetery immediately following the service.
