Hattie J. Leigh, age 85, of Rt. Rt. 46 S., Lenox Twp., passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.  She was born on July 19, 1931 in Cleveland, the daughter of George E. & Louise (Sessor) Lathan.

She worked for WEK Industries as a machine operator and retired in 1977.  She was a faithful member of the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church.  She enjoyed sewing, photography and listening to jazz music.  She loved horseback riding in her younger years and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.  She felt that God’s natural country landscape was beautiful and often talked about the wildlife and views from her country home.  Her family meant the world to her especially her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Romelio (Carol) Leigh of Cincinnati and Laura L. Leigh of Columbus; grandchildren, Solomon Basir of Berrien, MI., Adriana M. Leigh of Cincinnati, Ashley S. (Bryan) Chea of Orange, CA, Issa I. Israel of Columbus; niece, Melody Bradley of Ashtabula; nephews, Erskine Lathan of Ashtabula, Darrell Lathan of Ashtabula, Phillip Lathan of Singapore, Douglass Lathan of Erie, PA. and Gerald Clark of Ashtabula; 9 great-grandchildren and many beloved grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Erskine L. Lathan Sr. and Hugh Lathan and a grand-daughter, RebekahJean Hinton.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 A. M. at the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church, 2610 Lenox-New Lyme Rd., Jefferson, with Pastor Rick Havens officiating.  Burial will take place in Lenox Center Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors & Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson from 5:00-7:00 P. M. and Friday morning at the church from 10:00-11:00 A. M. prior to the service.
