Elmer F. Britton, age 84, of St. Rt. 167, Jefferson, died Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.  He was born August 19, 1931 in Fairmont WVA, the son of Blondy T. & Bula L.  (Jones) Britton.

He moved to Ashtabula County in 1996 after retiring from Case Western Reserve University where he worked as a plumber.  He enjoyed coon hunting, gardening, watching westerns and  attending Edgewood Alliance Church. His family meant the most and spending time with them as priceless.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. (McClure) Britton of Jefferson, whom he married January 26, 1990 in Cleveland; children, Sherlyn J. Enderlain of Kingsville, Diana K. Hanshaw of Cleveland, Barbara I. Britton of Egal, NE, Nial T. Britton of Cleveland, Berniece L. (Paul) Kis of Cleveland, Mark A. (Connie) Britton of Cleveland, Timothy I. Britton of Lincoln, NE; stepchildren, Marsha A. Bonds of Jefferson, Karen S. Bonds of Cleveland and Freddie L. Bonds of Alliance; siblings, Hazel Britton of Loraine,  Edward R. Britton of TN, Orpha M. Forman of Holiday, FL,  John Britton of Loraine, Elsie P. Dickerson of MS, Roseall L. Britton of Loraine; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mildred A. Britton; sons, Elmer C. Britton and David W. Britton; a pair of twins daughters in infancy, Celia and Shelia; brother, Frances Britton.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 7, 2015 at 7:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson Ohio with Pastor Gary Russell of Edgewood Alliance Church, 3137 E. Center St., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmont, WVA at a later date.

Calling hours will be held Monday at the Jefferson Home from 4:00-7:00 P. M. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
