Elizabeth J. Evans, age 93, longtime resident of the Jefferson area, died Monday evening at the Golden Living Center in Kirtland where she was a resident.

She was born October 20, 1921 in New Lyme Twp., the daughter of Hugh E. & Clara L. (Dreyer) Warner.  She was a 1939 graduate of New Lyme Deming High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in World War II.

Mrs. Evans owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years, retiring in 1972.  She was a member of the Rome Presbyterian Church, she was a long time 4-H advisor, a Hospice volunteer and enjoyed bowling, golf and gardening.

She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bruce in 1978 and six siblings, Thelma & Edith Warner, Ruth Stokes, Homer, Lee & Hugh Warner, Jr.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday at 12:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W.
