Douglas George Coxe, DDS of Ashtabula died unexpectly in Painesville, Ohio. He was born June 1, 1953 in Ashtabula the son of Doulas M. Coxe, DDS and Janet Coxe. He was a graduate of Harbor High School ; he received Bachelor’s of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whom he loved.
He was a dentist practicing in the Ashtabula Harbor for 34 years
He played football for the 1970 Harbor Mariners and also was an avid weight lifter. He loved to travel. He also enjoyed treating all his patients.
He received the Joslin Diabetes Fifty year award.
Surviving him is his wife Shirley (Smolen) Coxe whom he married October 9, 1982; three children, Douglas S. M. (Delfina Barela) Coxe, Kathryn Coxe and Kyle Coxe; a granddaughter Hailey Coxe; a brother, Christopher (Penny) Coxe and two sisters, Kerry (Gregg) Konzen and Shauna Bilbrey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be Saturday (Sept. 9th) at 12:00 PM at Saybrook Cemetery, Route 45 in Saybrook with Pastor Chester Howes of the Faith Fellowship Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the cemetery.
