Donald C. Allen, Jr. 61 of East 51st St. Ashtabula died Monday (August 3rd) at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren, Ohio. He was born March 12, 1954 in Ashtabula the son of Donald C. and Cornelia (Berwald) Allen, Sr.

He was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and had worked at  Trans Plastic in North Kingsville and Worley Logistics a division of Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for sixteen years retiring in 2008.

He is a member of Plymouth United Methodist Church; the Army/Navy Union and had been an assistant Boy Scout Leader. He loved softball and played in the Conneaut Leagues; in high school he played football; he also loved pasta; 60’s music and was a fan of The Ohio State; Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs but most of all loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren.

Surviving him are his mother, Cornelia  “Connie”  Allen of Ashtabula; two daughters, Ashley Ann Allen of Ft. Hood, Texas and Chelsie Nicole (Austin)  Burke of Portage, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ethan, Landon, Jameson and Lochlan;  three sisters, Donna Loyd, of Ashtabula, Laurie Perry of Geneva and Kathleen Allen of Owasso, OK. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald C. Allen, Sr.

Funeral service will be Thursday (August 6th) at 11:00 AM at the Plymouth United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Rd.  Plymouth Township with Rev. Samara Jenkins officiating. Burial will be later  at Maple Grove Cemetery in Plymouth Township.

Calling hours will be Wednesday (August 5th) from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Plymouth United Methodist Church.
