David W. Campbell “Campi”, of Los Angeles, CA and former Geneva resident died Monday (Jan. 16th)  at the age of 52 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Hollywood, California. He was born January 14, 1965 in Geneva the son of David G. and Betty (Rae) Campbell.

He was a 1983 graduate of Geneva High School, where he played football. He attended The Ohio State University. He then pursued his acting career in Florida and then in California where he  also worked for Stefano Ricci on Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills.

He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Besides acting, his passions were fishing, hunting, golf, photography and especially football. The Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes were his favorite.

Surviving him are his mother, Betty Rae Campbell of Geneva; his sister, Kelly A. Sintic of Geneva; his nephew, Garrett Sintic; his niece Lauren Sintic; his aunt Jean Waugaman all of Geneva. His uncle and aunt, Tom and Ruth Doty of Renfrew, PA; aunt, Helen Nicely of Madison, Ohio; his great uncle William Scaramuzzo of Evans City, PA and several cousins. Many special friends he considered family from California., especially John and Eliana Nikitin who were like a brother and sister to him. Joe Donlan and Renee Hunter. Thank you all for everything. You are Angels on this earth. Also thanks to Joe Pierce of Ashtabula, another special friend of the family, don’t know what we would’ve done without the three of you. He was preceded in death by his father, David and his special buddy Maggie.

Funeral services will be Tuesday (Jan. 24th) at 11:00 AM at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 323 South Broadway, Geneva with Rev. Bruce Hitchcock of the Geneva First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.

Calling hours will be Monday (Jan. 23rd) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
