Billye J. Hummel, age 87, E. Cedar St., Jefferson, died Friday evening, December 22, 2017 at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.

She was born October 12, 1930 in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles G. & Florence E. (Floor) Leasure.  Billye was a 1948 graduate of South High School in Youngstown.  She has lived in Jefferson the past 20 years.  She was married to Richard A. “Dick” Hummel on June 3, 1972 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.  Over the years, Billye has lived in Mt. Gilead, Cortland, Garfield Hts. & Parma, moving as her husband’s work required.  Billye briefly worked as a secretary in a law office upon graduating from high school and at Cortland Savings Bank.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Billye enjoyed reading, playing the piano, singing and was an accomplished painter.

Survivors include her husband, Richard, a son, Richard M. (Carol) Falcione of Ashtabula and two grandchildren, Michelle Falcione of Roaming Shores and Michael Falcione of Cuyahoga Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Geno Falcione in 2001, whom she was married to from 1951-1971 and a brother, Paul Leasure.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 89 E. Satin St., Jefferson with the Rev. Fred Grimm officiating.  Entombment of ashes will be in Oakdale Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (above address).
