Bernice Kniveton, 88 of Ashtabula died Tuesday (August 29th) at her home. She was born in North Clayton, New Jersey the daughter of Raymond and Edith Kniveton.
She was a graduate of Clayton High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland Bible College which is now Malone University. She was a Register Health Information Technician who had worked for the Cleveland Clinic and the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was a member of the Edgewod Church of the Nazarene and was active in missions and children’s ministry of the church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and collections which stamps and thimbles were two of her collections.
Surviving her is her lifelong friend and adoptive sister, Ruth Thompson with whom she made her home; two nieces, Chris (Alan) Kettunen of Saybrook and Marti (Clay) Tredway of North Kingsville; two nephews, Dale (Tina) Thompson of Crosby, Texas and Michael Kniveton of New Jersey; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond Kniveton, Jr. and Elmer Kniveton and a sister, Caroline Kniveton.
A memorial service will be Saturday (September 16th) at 11:30 M at the Edgewood Church of the Nazarene, 3025 North Ridge Rd, East Ashtabula with Rev. Kevin Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Green Cemetery in Clayton, New Jersey.
