Barbara A. Copen of Michigan Ave. Ashtabula died Saturday (Sept. 23rd) at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born June1, 1944 in Elkins, West Virginia the daughter of Earl H. and Sarah B. (Hughes) Copen.

She was a graduate of Geneva High School and had worked for Park Haven Nursing Home in Ashtabula until her retirement.

She is a member of The United Church in Geneva. She enjoyed doll collecting, oil painting and pen and pencil drawing. 

Surviving her is her son Christopher (Malery) Copen of Winston Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Anthony, Max and Charlette and three sisters, Donna McKinnis of Tucson, AZ, Carol Copen of Willoughby, OH and Peggy Piechock of Huachuca, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Thursday ( Sept. 28th) at 1:00PM a the Country Club Retirement Campus, 925 East 26th St. Ashtabula, OH
